It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want a master bedroom, play room, guest bedroom or study. Whatever it is, we will be happy to help.

Camden Town is famed for its market, a warren of fashion and curiosities by the Regent’s Canal. A haven of counter culture, the area is popular with tourists, teenagers and punks. The thriving nightlife scene includes live music in alternative clubs and old-school pubs, and major stars playing at the Jazz Cafe and the Roundhouse. Cafes bustle during the day. Nearby Regent’s Park has formal gardens and the London Zoo.

The London Borough of Camden is a London borough in Inner London. Camden Town Hall, on Euston Road, lies 1.4 mi (2.3 km) north of Charing Cross. The borough was established on 1 April 1965 from the area of the former boroughs of Hampstead, Holborn, and St Pancras—which together, prior to that date, had comprised part of the historic County of London.

The cultural and commercial land uses in the south contrast with the bustling mixed-use districts such as Camden Town and Kentish Town in the centre and leafy residential areas around Hampstead Heath in the north. Well known attractions include The British Museum, The British Library, the famous views from Parliament Hill, the London Zoo, the BT Tower, The Roundhouse and Camden Market. In 2019 it was estimated to have a population of 270,000.

The local authority is Camden London Borough Council

Where do you put stairs for a loft conversion?

Where Do Stairs Go In A Loft Conversion? Usually, the stairs to your loft conversion are best placed over the existing staircase in terms of convenience and efficient use of space. If this is not possible, a small room or part of a large room may be sacrificed to accommodate the stairs.

Staircase Building Regulations

When building anything onto or in your home, there are strict building regulations that must be followed; this is one of the key reasons why it is important to make sure that you do your research on home improvement companies before going ahead with a project. The regulations for loft conversions cover many aspects as the structure of your home will drastically change. For example, in some cases, the roof will need to be extended or the ceiling of the room below to be lowered to accommodate the new rooms above. Because of this, it means that there must be strict guidelines that our team follow to ensure that your home is safe after the project has been completed.

The stairs are a significant part of these regulations, meaning that the headroom, quality and pitch must all be taken into consideration when building your stairs. The regulations for the construction of stairs include the following:

  • Stairs must be fixed

  • Maximum steep pitch of 42 degrees

  • Staircase risers must be of equal level

  • Stairs must have a handrail if they have a drop of more than 600mm

  • 1.9m headroom at the centre of the flight

  • 1.8m headroom at the edges of the stairs

The time had come for a major re-think and re-arrangement, to suit the changing needs of the family. The primary ambition was to increase living space adding 2 loft bedrooms and loft bathroom.
